Script AutoCrat3.onStart experienced an error

Hello!

We've been using AutoCrat for many years now and have gotten so much use out of it. The late 2025 updates really smoothed out performance, too.

However, just today multiple users have run into issues when trying to load AutoCrat. On first attempt, the usual window hangs at "loading." Reloading the page and retrying to load AutoCrat gives the message "Script AutoCrat3.onStart experienced an error."

We've tried opening the sheet in incognito mode, different browsers, different users on different machines signed in on a single account. 

Anyone else having this issue or have any fixes?

Having same issue. Noticed when a form with autocrat set to run on submission, did not. Exact same hang on the loading screen and subsequent error message.

Update for support staff: our form ran on submission, but still can't open AutoCrat.

Also, thank you so much for providing and maintaining this extension. It is very well used and very much appreciated.

I cleared the browsing data and it helped speed up loading the plug-in. However when I run the job, it hangs at the loading screen.

Multiple people in my school district at various sites are reporting the same.

• Sometimes when going to open the extension the only option I have is "Help" - no launch or open options.
• Or, I get this error on open "Script AutoCrat3.onStart experienced an error"
• Or, it stays on the loading screen indefinitely
• or finally, lets me start a job, but the job never actually starts, just says it is starting. Again, indefinitely.

24 hours later and all is working again for us. On personal network 12 hours ago it was working, but cannot verify that things were functional on site anymore. Looks like it was a hiccup for us.

Yeah, I've been having the same issue this morning. Didn't make any changes prior to the issue. Definitely something on the Autocrat end, I imagine. Do you know of any way to reach out directly to autocrat support?

We have been experiencing the same thing today. We have not been able to come up with a fix yet.

I restarted the whole computer, and re-opened the Google Sheet and AutoCrat was available! Running now and everything looks good.

It was down intermittently was us yesterday with the same issues everyone is experiencing. Seemed to be usable by EOD and just ran it again today - it's a bit slow but at least it's launching.
