Hi,

I have a formula in a separate tab that Queries and Hyperlinks the results of the Autocrat job output column (a Google Doc file) that starts with "Link to merged Doc - ....", and the formula has worked perfectly for several years. Recently I realized though that the links in  the cells in the separate tab are now broken (they just say "invalid link").

I did some investigating, and I noticed that the Google Docs output URL that Autocrat produces ends with "?usp=drivesdk". However, since Google's recent incorporation of Tabs in Google Docs, the URLs now end with a tab reference, such as "?tab=t.0" or some other number besides 0 (depending on how many tabs there are). I believe that this is the reason that my links in the separate tab are now broken.

Does anyone know a way around this or have any other ideas about a possible different cause?

Thanks.

Joel

You might be right.  See this thread.  If the template is the old format without the tab information, it might work.

I did a little testing and it worked for me.  See folder.

It seemed to work for me without using the old format template.

I used the first link and told Autocrat that it was a link.

I may try your suggestion of creating a new version of the template with the old Google Docs file type that doesn't have tabs, but if I'm understanding correctly, that isn't go to affect any of the file links that have already been outputted. Assuming I don't want to go through and delete the old outputted files and then run them again after I've "fixed" the template, do you have any ideas about how to resolve the invalid link issue with those?

I have no magic wand to remove the tab sheet from the files that have been created.

I didn't figure that you had a way to change the file directories of the rows that have already been output. I was actually hoping that you might know/have any ideas about a workaround in the syntax of the Query function that would allow me to reconnect the links instead. If you don't that's fine though.

Thank you by the way for the help that you have provided.

I'm not sure where the links are.

I would consider making a copy of the current sheet for backup.

Look through the revision history until you find a spreadsheet that contains the Autocrat history.

Restore that copy.

Make a copy.

Restore the latest version.

Copy the Autocrat information from the history version to the original.

The above assumes that you are running Autocrqt on sheet that is in the same order as when you ran Autocrat.  I always recommend to run the Add-ons on a sheet that won't change the order if a row is deleted or the data sorted.

Let me know if you have any questions.

The sheet in question is connected to several other things, so making any number of copies is going to break much more than it would potentially fix. I appreciate your suggestions though.

If you follow my steps, the original spreadsheet will be the one connected to the other spreadsheets.

You are only changing the content.

You might want to change the form to "Closed for Repair, check back in 30 minutes".
