Not able to use Google Slide as autoCrat template

Hello, new to autoCrat but being guided by someone who has been using it for years. 

Today I setup my first merge and it appeared all was good, but never got my test email confirmation. 

When I go to Extensions -> Autocrat -> Settings I get an error message that says "TypeError: Cannot read property "length" from null."

Then if I go to Extensions -> Autocrat -> Launch my job is not there and it only has a red button with the option "NEW MERGE JOB" and if I choose that... I try to upload my Google Slide template, but it says on top of the window:

"Please select the document you wish to use as the merge template. Merge templates can be a Doc or Sheet and must incude <<Merge Tags>>"

But I had already uploaded a Google Slide as my template earlier today with the job I thought was working. 

Any advice or ideas would be great appreciated. Thank you!

Are you using a Google Form with this application?  

Is there anything in the status column of the Autocrat merge?

You may want to start over with a new spreadsheet.

Hi I have the same problem: I lauched for the first time Autocrat and I setup my first merge and it appeared all was good. It gets data from a google form and it sends me the results on the mail with a pdf. But if I want to edit something in autocrat (maybe change recipient of the email) it's impossible because when I open google sheets (linked with the form) and I go to extensions then launch Autocrat I can only create a new job and can't click on "edit" and the design it's different from when I launch for the first time.
I only have 1 account of google, I only use Google Chrome and I already tried to uninstall or use to a different google sheet. I can't solve this problem. If you can help me it would be great, thank you very much
