hi

A question when I generate documents with autocrat the 1st time they are generated correctly, but if I delete them or change the folder these generated documents, and I rerun the job, they are no longer generated? because it can be? Thank you.

You need to clear the data in the fourth column (status) for a row to be processed.

Can the already created documents be updated without a new one being created?

No.  Autocrat creates a new file every time.

I'm not sure I understand. 

This is next to impossible for a PDF file.  For a Google Document, I guess the new output could erase what is in the file and replace it.  That would mean that the URL to the file wouldn't change.

That is something that NewVisions would have to weigh the benefits and the expense to determine if they could add it.

Yes, that's exactly what I mean! From a teaching standpoint, it would be great to have one document that we could update for purposes of real-time feedback, collaboration, etc.

It would also be amazing if it could somehow integrate into Google Classroom to sync with our roster and "assign" each individual document to the student it is for. Food for thought.

I don't know much about Google Classroom.  With Autocrat you can cause all of the documents to go into a separate folder for each student.  You can direct new documents into that folder with a date in the file name.

This is an interesting discussion but the folks at NewVisions control the analyst time and I have no real connection with them.

If you can convince them that it would be an advantage for the New York schools, they might add it.  https://www.newvisions.org/

Is it possible that my complications are coming from the fact that the domain is only about 30-50 days old? Could that Be causing my problems? Also, this is creating a file in a folder owned in an “old” email? Could that also be causing a problem?

The only thing I can think of that depends on the age of an account is the number of emails that can be sent in a given day.

I don't think Autocrat cares who owns the folder as long as the person running Autocrat have permission to create files in the folder.

I just don’t know why I keep getting email coming back as “blocked” to every email address under the sun. Happened again today. grrrr

I turned off all triggers under the old account, then turned them on under the new account. I even deleted the old job and created a new one in the new account. Still won’t send from the new email.

I can’t make the new account the owner because it’s outside our organization.

Joel,

I thought of you this morning.  I wonder if it would be easier to create a personal account with the name of the organization.  org...@gmail.com.

You can create all of your jobs using that account.  No need for a workplace account and the cost and hassle that it brings.

If you don't send more than 100 emails per day you should be good to go.

When you retire, you give the password to the new person.  Change the profile of the account to use one of their information for backup.

Just an idea worth thinking about.
