Student report in moodle

Hello,

I hope you are all healthy and safe! I am a Canadian math teacher in Bulgaria trying to test her 12 graders in distance learning because they are about to graduate, so it's a wild ride... I really like Numbas so far, but my first student completed his quiz, I went to check his report and what I see is this...

I need to check what he got wrong but let's just say it's not obvious. I can't even see what question he was asked... as in, what number my random variables showed him. How can I fix it or where can I see what he did and what the questions were?

Hi Kariane,

Moodle shows the raw data it gets from the SCORM protocol, which isn't very easy to read, sorry!

You can pick out the student's answers, but it's a bit laborious. The rows of the form "cmi.interactions.N.learner_response" show the student's answer, and "cmi.interactions.N.id" identifies the part it corresponds to. Questions and parts are indexed from zero; for example, "q0p2" corresponds to Question 1, part c.

Back when we used Moodle's SCORM player for the majority of our assessment, I wrote a custom report which presents Numbas data in a more sensible fashion. I don't think it works with the latest versions of Moodle, but I'll see if I can recreate it quickly. It'd be a plugin that your Moodle administrator would have to install.

Hello Christian,

I really appreciate your response!! If you do manage to make a pluggin, I am sure my admin will gladly input it for me. They are getting out of their way to make everything possible for use. I somewhate managed to find what I was looking for in my student's response, but I have 150 other students to take the test and if I have to spend 20 min each time to find what mistakes they made, it will be a very challenging task.

Hi Christian,

Thank you so much for this! We've installed it and it's great :)

The only thing is there is a couple bugs in the report for some reason... I was wondering if you can tell me if I can fix it somehow, or if you think it's a problem in the code?

First one is in my fake test to show the students how to use it. It repeats the answers of question 1 in question 2 instead of giving me question 2:

Now, if I look at the real test, there are two weird things. Question 2 actually shows me question 3, and question three isn't showing at all. I don't know if that might help, but question 2 is the only one he got wrong. 

I am attaching the entire code and the pictures in case it helps.

Sorry Kariane, I didn't do a lot of testing and it turns out my PHP isn't that good! I think I've now fixed the problems you saw. Please ask your Moodle admins to update the report plugin from GitHub.
