I see depreciated policies for setting the address of a proxy server etc. for GPO Users chrome.
Does anyone have a prtghdc1oper current way of doing it.
GPO all under USERS
Right now we do 3 registry keys

But also (LOL)
under

And for Chrome

We also need to make sure certain internal websites can bypass proxy for Chrome and Edge
So it is set under the registry value as well as each GPO section of browser above under bypass rules.
Of course some of this is blatantly wrong now LMAO but it works and I don’t dare mess with it without having a clear idea what the preferred method should be for W1021H1 and 21H2 right now…
Any thoughts appreciated…
Many thanks In advance.

Laszlo

Thanks Michael. Still testing something as you are right it is only the registry part that works now… not EDGE or Chrome GPO direct settings… still trying something and may have a follow-up question… thanks for your time and insight J

Subject: [ntsysadmin] Re: Proxy Edge and Chrome
Hi Laszlo,
It took me a few tries to get this right when they first changed to JSON. This is the format that's working for us:
{"ProxyMode": "fixed_servers", "ProxyServer": "YOUR PROXY IP/URL:PORT", "ProxyBypassList": "COMMA SEPARATED LIST"}
We use registry settings in a GPO to push it out, since different departments need different bypasses, but the format is the same regardless . And we set by machine rather than user. HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Google\Chrome and the value name is ProxySettings.

Michael
