OK... maybe not that desperate... but is anyone interested in volunteering to help edit R2AK team interviews?  R2AK Race Boss might have bitten off more than he can chew by saying he is going to interview and post all teams.  I think that was decided before they got 80 team entries.  If you have been listening (Makika Masala interview in particular) you can see that I might have broken his will to edit.

If you know how to edit audio, or think it would be fun to learn, let me know.  This can be as simple as cutting out dead air.  The next step would be taking out sub par or repetitive strings.  The ultimate would be doing both steps with a wry sense of humor.

Hi Jeff

I have very novice level of video/audio editing for personal use. Not sure how much help I would be but would enjoy supporting the event. It has been a year or so since I have done any so would need to refresh and ensure my software is up to the task.

Here is my contact information

Please edit.  The snowflakes need to understand their competition. See you in 2 months.

Ah... Sir Alexander Dane is in the house!

Yes... all my humor is inside humor... my inside humor... and like an Ent it's a little slow and deep.  It's not like I am dredging up the late 30s by looking at your boat and saying "sano!" (short for sanitary... or "cool" if you want the rosetta stone link).
Besides, people need to spend more time doing research.  By the way... how was the Galaxy Quest viewing? 😇

As for Mr William Clay... volunteer extraordinaire... I will call you in a bit. 🙂

Hi Jeff,

I know how to do this (maybe I know *too* much…) and have the tools, but this could be a huge task.
I don’t have unlimited time to spend on this.
The best I can do for now is to offer to do some of them.
It might take more than one person to do all of them.

How are the interviews recorded?
How long are the interviews?
What is the objective of the editing?
What file format are the interviews in, and what is the intended file format for the finished “product”?

You could send me a personal email with this info.

Many hands make light work.

You can do just one if you want... and you are right.  I think the reason Boss threw a rod is because if you give him a one hour interview it takes about two hours to edit and he has to do all that on top of his normal workload.  So you have to think it's fun... and you have to want to do it.

The interviews are recorded on zoom.
The interviews are supposed to be around a half hour max for each team.
The objective with the editing is to trim out all the dead space (ums ahs dead air) and if there is more content than fits in a half hour... to high grade the content for the best effect in the style of the R2AK.
Not sure what the file format is in... but I can find out (I never see the file... I assume only Race Boss does).

If I can find a quiver of folks who are willing to do one or more I think it might give race teams a better chance of being heard.

Let me know what you think!

Jeff
