Our last Sail Sand Point event was pretty popular... and SSP has invited the NWMA to join their Sunset Sail event.

They are hosting this sunset sail on August 11th from 8 - 10 pm.  They are also hosting a dessert potluck and chose this particular night as there is a meteor shower occurring.

Ruf Duck will be there.  Is anyone else interested?  Eric?  It might be a good night to get a potential buyer out.

Let me know if you are interested... and I will pass the info along.

See you there!

Good idea Jeff.  I can be there with boat pending any trips we may take last minute.

Jeff asked me to send the flyer, so hopefully this will work - at least I've got the Google Group access to approve it if needed!

Ceratops plan is to be out cruising at this time, but we're already delayed a week so.. TBD.

I can wholeheartedly recommend watching meteor showers laying out on a net - a fantastic experience!

I'll be going to SSP and sailing a Wave.  If anyone would like crew to handle lines going through the locks, I'd be happy to come along from Shilshole or Fisherman's Terminal.  Otherwise I will see you guys there.

We will see you there Duncan!

Ruf Duck will be headed over from Fisherman's Terminal just as soon as the bridges open again at 6:00

Looks like a nice night!

Reminder, its tonight.  I meant to send this a few days ago but forgot and just realized the event is tonight.  I will be there at 8 or before.  I'd love and extra crew it anyone wants to come down and help out.  There has been an excellent north wind all day to sail around a bit beforehand.  A little late, (sorry), but if anyone wants to moor on our buoy overnight, they are welcome but call me first at 206 458-8731 or Marilyn at 206 799-7217 to get directions, one neighbor will not be happy if you tie to her buoy.  We can shuttle you home if you are in Seattle and you can pick your boat up the next day or when ever.   I hope some of you can make and help crew with me.

It’s possible to sail here and dock at Sail Sand Point or drive here.

I see that https://www.sailsandpoint.org/events-calendar/ says:

Join us on August 11th for a Full Moon Sail (okay, we know the full moon is technically two days prior but it’ll still be bright!) starting at 8PM! We’ll be offering boat rides and discounted paddle craft for a late-night on the water experience–we’re thrilled to bring back this SSP classic! We also hear a meteor shower might be visible!

Sail Sand Point

7861 62nd Ave NE, Seattle

How to Find Us in Magnuson Park

The entrance to SSP is off of Sand Point Way NE at NE 74th Street.  After you enter through the entrance guard station, turn left at 63rd Ave NE and go north. Turn left again at NE 77th Street. (There are usually Sail Sand Point signs, but sometimes these get moved). Turn right at the stop sign, go under the overpass and continue straight to the water.

Well... the wind did not show, but SSP was very grateful for the NWMA folks who showed up - Duncan, Diane, Mark, Eric, Shaun and Scott to mention a few.
Scott, Shaun and I had a nice orangish moonlight motor home... beating the bridge closure time of 11PM.  Kudos to Scott for calling the Fremont bridge keeper and having them shame the Ballard Bridge keeper into returning to his post (he had cut out early... we arrived at 10:56).
:)

PS... the PT Wooden Boat Festival is comming up... they have multihull stuff going on this year.  Check the schedule!

Nice pic Duncan.   I enjoyed the evening more than I thought.  It was nice to get on the water even though there was very little wind.
