Starting in June

Hi,

After talking with a few Northparkérs at the Cubberly game, I think we should have enough players to revive the Northpark game.  We will start the Wednesday after Memorial Day.  We will use the sign-up sheet until we have consistent numbers.  

I think at this point, masks will be optional given most people will have been vaccinated.  And no change to the stall count but do maintain at least an arms length when marking.

I played my first game yesterday at Ortega Park with the Jenny Strand game.  There were 28 players.

I've been very careful with COVID and am into my fourth week now after my second vaccination.  Still they are not 100%.  So I was pleased that the in-your-face contact really was not present and being outdoors, I think the risk is minimal, especially as community spread has been dropping.  By June, the prevalence will probably be quite low and as a vaccinated person any risk will certainly be minimal -- at least until a nasty new variant develops.  So far the vaccines are still quite effective even in India... but maybe do us a favor and sit it out for a few days if you travel to India or other areas that are still struggling with outbreaks.

Should we post in a few of the other area groups that we are starting back up? If people are still working from home in North San Jose, we may get some folks who would normally play other area games.

What will be the start time we aim for? Cubberly is very late.

I won't be there every day, but looking forward to it!

Hi Lee,

I see there are 7 currently signed up.

I would like to come out, but I'm not in anything close to ultimate shape (even for me), so I would hate to be the 8th person if people are expecting a fast-paced game.

I would be up for some throwing, walking, and some attempts at jogging, if that's ok with others.  (Maybe more, but don't want to set expectations too high. :) )

Last call.  We only have 7 signed up.  Maybe the interest wasn’t as high as I thought.  Or maybe people are out of town this week.   If we don’t have anyone else sign up by 11:30, then we’ll head over to Cubberly.  Maybe we can have a Northpark game there.
