CNC mill questions

Hi everybody.

I've just moved up to the area and having been a member at the Bristol Hackspace, I'm looking to join up with you guys.

I have a few questions about the CNC mill. I looked on the wiki and had a search in here but couldn't see anything.

Could it cut 19mm MDF or plywood?

What travel has it got?

After I've joined, how would I go about getting an induction?

Hi Alex,

It will be the CNC router you are after and not the CNC mill, but I believe it should manage 19mm MDF.

The best thing to do is to come along to a Welcome Wednesday and get shown around. We are not in a position to offer training, but learning from another member is often the best way of getting the knowledge you need.

Out of interest what is it you are wanting to cut?

Cool. The CNC can cut around 1.2m square from memory, and we would struggle getting anything larger down to the workshop, but this will all make more sense when you visit.
