Node.js Voice Chat

Hey guys,

I am wanting to try developing a voice chat application in node.js where my friends and I can have a group chat in browser without relying on an external client.

Has anyone got any advice and could point me in the right direction to begin?

You may like to take a look at the following book in my reading list. It is supposed to walk you through the development of a chat server. I'm not sure whether it'll address your need as I haven't read yet. It has just one review so far with one star rating but it may have references:

Hey, I know your post is old... but did you ever get any pointers on this?  I kind of wanted to create a voice chatroom as well, similiar to the old yahoo javascript chatrooms.   Let me know if you did get pointers or figure it out.  Thanks!

+1. Did you find a solution other than WebRTC ? I would like this to work on mobile devices also, without building a native app for it.
