Datagrams on Linux and Windows

So im trying to write a simple script to download Steam's master server list. The code I have works on Windows but not on Linux (debian latest, ubuntu latest and centos latest).

I have no clue why this would happen, here is the code:

Just to rule out the obvious, are your Linux tests done on VMs that are NATed behind a virtual network?

Tested on both VMs locally, a debian VPS (public) and a debian dedi (public).
Similar code performing the same job in PHP works on the same system.
