Hi node friends.

Im searching for a way to use the node red dashboard comfortable from an android smartphone, wondering why the interest in the hole wide web isnt bigger on this. Wanna use the phone as the central control station for various things at home.

-> node red is installed on a Rpi in the home network
-> wished features for the smartphone ui
- fullscreen
- slowest as possible loading times

I've found several apps on the android store, that loads the local url fine in fullscreen and in an acceptable amount of time via the webview feature of google android.

But all together have a big issue for me. I cant scroll down the dashboard ui. Cant figure out whether to blame the android webview feature or the node red dashboard plugin.

Any suggestions regarding the webview solution or any other possible way? Thanks in advance.

There was a fix in the dashboard related to scrolling I believe, have
you tried updating to the latest version?

I have same issue, I'm seeing just part of my gauge, and can not scroll over the screen (if header, or title is enabled it accepts scroll just if scrolled over it).

I'm having samsung galaxy A5 2016, and using google chrome, tried to access dashboard also with 'Request desktop site' but it doesn't help.

I installed some mqtt app from app store (mqtt dash) to send and receive messages to control the system since dashboard is ok on desktop.

You may find the bigger issue is KEEPING it running on the dashboard night and day.

just don't use graphs for 24x7 use... :-)   way overrated imho .
My Pi 1 with LCD runs all the time showing elec gauge (update every 6 sec) - gas bar charts (updated every cuft change) and weather every hour.

In my case not graphs – buttons – and to be any use – they have to be there 24-7.

What do you suggest for 24-7 graphs?

Colin, thanks for your quick response. As you said, i updated from 2.3.3 to 2.3.5 and now scrolling works like a charm with the webview apps from the store. Thanks mate.

@Dalibor
Scrolling and the hole presentation of the Dashboard ui works fine for me with the Firefox browser for android, even in the lower versions of the dashboard.

@all
If anyone can benefit from it: For each of you, who use the dashboard ui on a static tablet on the wall, looking through the play store, you can find an app called Auto Web Launcher, wich also use webview to load the URL in fullscreen and comes along with two nice features:
  • -> Launch on boot – the app can be configured to start up as soon as the device finishes booting
  • -> Take Screen Lock – This prevents the screen from powering off or locking

Yep, it seams like it is working now also on my andorid, both on chrome and firefox.
I will test this on my android few days with changing size of groups since this was causing problems.

Grafana works well for me. Not using it 24x7 on mobile devices though, only on the desktop where I've left it running for days with a load of complex charts. You can choose the auto-update frequency too.

Hi Everyone

I'm still having this issue on Android, even with dashboard updated to 2.3.5. The only browser that is scrolling whithout problems is the Samsung one, both Firefox and Chrome are not scrolling.
