Just for everyone's info,
Since NLUG is mainly about FOSS (and for many other reasons) I don't want to get off topic by talking about cryptocurrencies, but I'm finding the tech extremely interesting and I believe it will benefit everyone to be informed.
For anyone interested, one thing I learned about Ethereum is that it's in a sense an OS with many other cryptocurrencies acting as applications and protocols on top of Ethereum. Quoted From Coinbase: "Ethereum is both a cryptocurrency and a decentralized computing
platform. Developers can use the platform to create decentralized
applications and issue new crypto assets, known as Ethereum tokens".
Thanks for what I've been able to learn from everyone on this list.

PS. one reason I want to stay on the topic of tech and not investing or money is because I was born in NYC and worked at a French investment bank overlooking Times Square. I didn't want to make a career of it and just wanted to see some of the goings on- I saw more than I wanted to see; it was a horrible experience for me (my own fault)
