Zoom -> meet.jit.si

Greetings,

I had a paid account and used Zoom for years on my Linux box. Over the last few months, however, I have had increasing problems using Zoom. I reported two of the problems and worked with them for months with no resolution. As we were working on the first two bugs, a third materialized. Getting sick of all of these problems and the never-ending interaction with their support team to resolve the issues, I finally canceled my account with them.

I can use Google Meet and meet.jit.si without a problem. I switched to meet.jit.si because it had more free functionality. My sense is that Zoom's commitment to Linux is waning and they lost some critical talent.

So, for future meetings, we may want to consider switching to meet.jit.si.

In the event tonight was recorded, I'm interested in seeing it .. presentation or no presentation, I always get something out of it.

I've been interested in jitsi for a while. Especially, if we can try self-hosting our own server.

A self-hosting jitsi server would be a fun, interesting, and educational project that could be done on an free AWS server for someone out there.

I have been running a Big Blue Button server for a few years.
It works well. I might be off the Internet here in a bit, but
