I've been using Plex on a Linux media server for years now.  It has been pretty good for playing my recorded movies and TV shows across my home network, with relatively few glitches.

Plex has been saying for months now they were going to discontinue plugins, and I regularly use some.  The latest version, 1.16.5, has discontinued plugin support.  (You can still see the plugin icons, but they no longer function.)  Staying on or reverting to 1.15.x will allow you to continue using plugins.

I'm starting to contemplate moving to something else, but I entered a lot of data about the videos into Plex, like rating episodes, so it will be a huge pain to try to change to other software but I may have to investigate alternatives.

I use LibreElec and have been a big fan. Might be worth checking out.

I'm a big Plex fan but plugins haven't been a big deal for me.
