ouch. We had a guy at work that I work with die last week. Went to the hospital for something, while not minor it was not something people would say life threatening, and ended up having a heart attack there.  Prayers for John and his family/friends/loved ones.

John has been with NLUG since about the time it started (to my knowledge) and he served for years as secretary. He often brought a developers perspective to our discussions, sometimes accompanied by corny jokes.He wasn't the most outspoken but he always brought a gentle kind-hearted presence to our meetings, consistently, for decades. 
We missed him this past Tuesday night and upcoming meetings won't be the same without him. 

Does anyone have memories or impressions of John to share?
Does anyone know when and where his service will be held?

Oh no, that’s such a loss. He will Be sorely missed. Yes he has been around since the early days of NLUG. I remember him mostly from meetings and beer and pizza nights.
