I know we touched on it in a recent NLUG meeting, but someone I know, in Oregon, blind, is in need of faxing medical forms (e.g. including SSN) to a provider. Is there an online service, or phone app, that y'all would trust to get it faxed?

Paul:

To answer your question:

You can talk to my provider  now known as Cloudli formerly known as Babytel.

They offer t38 fax over ip as well as a cloud solution.

I currently pay 9.90 plus taxes for 90 minutes a month with a free ata adapter.

I’ve used Vitelity vFax at several clients with good success.

https://www.cloudli.com/blog/examining-the-difference-between-t38-and-cloud-based-fax

Here is a good article on the difference between t.38 real-time  versus  cloud store&forward faxing solutions.

As well as some of the other regulatory compliance issues that can come up depending on your needs.

I've had good luck with RingCentral, just for me to find out they don't offer the fax plan anymore.

Here's a link to PC Magazine's list of best efax providers for 2021.

I have used efax.com for years.  Free to receive unless you do much.  A few pages a month is free.

Hellofax has worked well for me for the occasional fax (every year or two, usually for mortgages or wires).
