Embedding galleries in posts

Hi all,
I've recently started experimenting with Nikola's galleries feature. Is
there a way to embed a gallery in a post?
Obviously it's easy to link to a gallery, but I'd like to have the
thumbnail list appear directly in a post, so the reader can click on the
images to see the enlarged version. Linking to them means the reader has
to click through to a new page and then navigate back to the post.
