I was pleasantly surprised to witness a count of over 100 Monarchs in migration today at Pack Monadnock's 2200' summit. It's been two years since we have broken 100 in a day. Last year our top day was 29. I'll be curious to see how the rest of the year plays out.

We also had a good day for migrant raptors too, counting over 3,100.

Happy to hear it, Levi! I've made a number of trips recently to the spots where I usually see Monarchs touching down to refuel on their journey south, but I've been largely disappointed. Of course, it's always hit or miss with these things, and I suppose I've had some good luck in the past, so perhaps I was due for a little disappointment.

I'm happy to hear their numbers have improved elsewhere.

George
