Hermit thrush in Sullivan

I just saw a hermit thrush foraging in a brushy area near a stream and along a rock wall.  This is very unusual timing for me — I’ve never seen one on my hill (about 1250’ elevation) after November and before late March.  I’m curious if folks think this is a late lingering bird or an early migrant.  I'd love to think that this is a vote that winter might end...

Nice bird for this cold and snowy winter, Milton! (As was your saw-whet owl)
There haven’t been as many around NH this winter. I strongly suspect it was a bird that’s been wintering somewhere nearby and not a migrant…sorry. It’s about two months early for hermit thrush migration through our region.

Similarly, I saw a red-shouldered hawk this morning in Antrim, which I suspect has been the bird I’ve seen nearby earlier in the winter.
