Dear Colleagues,

Please find below some calls for proposal that might be useful for your organisation

Calls for Proposals
1.    AWDF Call for Proposals: Leading From the South
The African Women’s Development Fund was established in 2000, as an
Africa-wide philanthropic, grant making initiative to support the
realisation and fulfilment of African women’s rights through funding
of autonomous women’s organisations on the continent.
AWDF works towards the creation of healthy, just and inclusive
societies framed by equality, peace and respect for women’s rights.
Since its founding, AWDF has awarded more than US$30 million in
grants.
AWDF is mandated to fund in all 54 African countries. Under the
Leading from the South  initiative. AWDF has expanded its grantmaking
mandate to include selected countries in the Middle East.

Through Leading from the South, AWDF will award grants that advance
the following three impact areas:
1. Eliminate violence against women and girls & sustain respect for
women’s bodily integrity and autonomy
2.  Protect full economic rights and justice for women
3.  Expand democratic space; sustain inclusive governance and equal
political participation of women

Grants will be awarded in the range of US$20,000 to US$ 500,000 a year

2. The U.S. Embassy Abuja, Nigeria is seeking applications for its
United States Ambassador’s Small Grants program (ASG) to provide
one-time small grants to community development programs that improve
the socio-economic wellbeing and/or health of the community.
The ASG Program is designed to support communities help themselves.
Funding under the ASG Program is largely provided by the U.S.
President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and by the U.S.
Department of State Self-Help.
Under the ASG, projects must originate in the community, and the
community members need to make significant contributions to the
success of the project, such as land, labor, funds, materials, ongoing
supervision, and other resources.
•    Projects that target care for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS and
other vulnerable children
•    Projects that promote human rights for key populations
•    Projects that support community development in the larger community
Budget $10,000 Maximum

3 . The Girl Generation is seeking proposals from grassroots
organisations, networks and individuals for its “The Girl Generation
End FGM Grants Programme” with an aim to build the Africa-led movement
to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). The purpose of the funds is to
accelerate social change to end FGM through communications, advocacy
and campaigning.
In late 2015, The Girl Generation obtained funding from the Human
Dignity Foundation to implement a small grants programme to support
efforts to end FGM in 10 African countries and with these funds, our
set up The Girl Generation End FGM Grant Programme.

There are two main types of grants available through the programme:
•      Activity grants to enable social change to end FGM: grants to
grassroots organisations and networks to support activities to end
social change. There are three types of activity grants available to
organisations and networks:
o      Small grants (US$ 4,000 – US$ 10,000)
o      Medium grants (US$ 10,000 – US$ 20,000)
o      Large grants (US$ 20,000 – US$ 50,000)

4. Family Planning 2020

The RRM provides grants that respond to emerging, unanticipated and/or
time-bound opportunities that will help FP2020 meet its goal of
enabling 120 million more women and girls using contraceptives by
2020.

The RRM supports projects that amplify existing family planning
programs in an FP2020 focus country.

RRM funding is disbursed rapidly by the FP2020 Secretariat and must be
spent within a maximum of 12 months by the Grantee. The majority of
RRM-funded projects last 3 to 6 months
Awards will not exceed US$ 250,000. However, the vast majority of
RRM-funded projects receive less than US$100,000.

Warm regards.

Nelson
