Ralph McGehee, author of the indispensable Deadly Deceits: My 25 Years in the CIA
died on May 2, at 92, (reportedly) of COVID-19. 

What with the Agency's tight grip on US book publishing, and on the media overall, 
Ralph had a hard time getting his book published (the ACLU finally helped him thwart
the CIA's attempts to kill the project); and, when it came out in 1983, it got few reviews, 
despite—or because of—the harsh light that it sheds on what the CIA was (and still is) 
really all about.

Unsurprisingly, that too-truthful book did not sit well with Ralph's former colleagues,
whose hostility made his life in Virginia so unpleasant that he felt compelled to move
to Florida.
