"Effect" vs. "Stack" condition?

OK, so I first learned how to use Nerfed Buttons (using the UI) via a couple of Youtube videos.Ā  I now suspect that I've been taught a workflow that's rather inefficient:

They said that for the situation where you're adding a skill that doesn't stack / one that you don't want to fire more than once, you should create an "Effect":Ā  Ā find the icon for that same skill, drag it over into the UI, then set it to stack = 1, need = -, target = e (or p if it's a self-buff).Ā Ā

After reading through some of the threads here, I now suspect that this is really overly-complicated?Ā  Ā  Ā I'm thinking I should instead create a "Stack" condition, set it to need = -, target = whatever... and... just leave "duration" blank ??Ā  Ā  I'm thinking that would do the same thing?Ā  Ā  That would make my "condition list" for each skill a lot more understandable / readable in the UI.Ā Ā

I want to be sure because I want to pass along the correct information to some of my friends.

Thanks!

I Think the guy/girl that made nerfedbuttons stopped playing, and yes, I got your email because Im registered for the google thingie, but you are the first one in alot of years who tries to get it working.

Try ā€waybackmachineā€ and see if you can find the manual.

I’m not joking, but thats your best chance.

Oh I'm sure I'm not the first in a long time to start using it.Ā  It's mentioned frequently-enough over on the Return of Reckoning server forums.Ā  It's just that people don't get into the specifics of it there.Ā  The posts tend to devolve into arguments about whether or not it should be banned.

I actually did go use the Wayback machine a few days ago to find the docs, thanks!

I copied the data into a Word document and cleaned up the layout a bit, so that I could have a reference that I could print off.

That and testing things out on a training dummy has helped me a lot.Ā  (The docs don't talk about every command or even several conditions' options.)

Thanks!

😊    I used nerfed buttons ALOT, only way to keep my witch elf/witchhunter alive, on the ā€dark sideā€, just to keep up, and I had a special nerfedbuttons thing, that made me knock all enemies arounds med down, jump back a few yards, and stealth, for my witchhunter, I had some extremely long string, witch checked when I could do BAL, gl to you, and, if you dont mind, pls mail me the copy you have.

Patrick,

Ā

Let’s see if this works:Ā  I’ve attached my Microsoft Word Doc where I basically screen-scraped the old web pages for the Nerfed Buttons stored on the Internet Wayback Machine.

Note that I made a few comments inside of the document.Ā  I tried to put all of those in magenta type and I often inserted my moniker ā€œHannibalā€ after each one.

Ā

Thanks!

Wow, this is amazing. Might get me to try RoR again.
