I posted about this a while back. Progress happened since then.. also got my hands on a laser cutter for enclosure work (+ learned some FreeCad underway), and I am fairly happy with the results.

Still missing a few details (screws for the casing, some programming etc). The clock is non-multiplexing, updates clock via WiFi (+ has an RTC clock). The tube power supply is a fly-boost converter, which has been running nicely for a couple of months now.

Had a couple of iterations with the enclosure, turns out the tubes generates a fair amount of heat. After adding vents, it's doing fine (and, it keeps dust away automagically :D)

That is one amazing clock.  Any chance you will be looking to sell these kits?

Thanks!

I have certainly thought about making kits. However, most of the components are SMD, so I guess it's not for everybody. I could also make a through-hole edition..

But first, I will let it run for a while, to ensure there are no hiccups, to ensure I don't sell a piece of junk 😎

I'll eventually announce it here if I do that.

If you're using IN8s I would suggest searching for some fine grid tubes; I think that would add to the look overall. Nice work!

Yep, they are IN-8-2 and IN-16. I agree on the fine grid !

I freehand solder SMD on most of the clocks I have built so I am not worried about that. Is the design and BOM stabile yet?
I would love access to the BOM and
Gerber files.
