Here's a group of projection displays I modified to display digits and am using a esp8266 to drive serial rgb LEDs. Feel free to ask any questions. More info can be found on my Instagram page: sexzual_hotdog, and I have a couple of videos up on the process on my YouTube channel: AllAboutHotdogs. I'm looking for other incandescent displays of any time if anyone has some in their collection they're willing to part with.

I have a set of 8 or 10 digit acrylic displays- all lit by the side with tiny 5 V incandescent lamps.

I’ll take a pic and you’ll see

Awesome. Sounds like light guide / edge lit displays. I've been looking for a set for a while

Those are awesome looking.  I would love to see those in a clock setup.

Looks very nice!

Can you please explain more how you made the new sheets with the digits so I can try to find a company that can make sheets for me.

I'd like to make digits like in the IEE NIMO tubes, someone used small displays to fake the look: https://hackaday.com/2018/09/16/this-nearly-nimo-clock-fakes-it-and-makes-it/ . I also need to make new sheets for some Digivisor Mark II, like the ones here: http://www.electricstuff.co.uk/venner.html , as I have a few where the paint has dropped off from the clear plastic sheets probably due to poor storage and moisture.

Check out the second video on my YouTube channel I linked. I go over the info there. Tell the guy who prints the film Garret sent you if you order from him

Thanks, so Garret at www.gammatech.com is the guy to contact then?

Will you make your files with digits available for free download?

Haha no, Charlie is the owner of gamma tech. I'm Garret. Tell him I sent you. I could release the file, but it's really only applicable for this exact model number display. And what are you doing with those displays with the meter? I'm looking for some more displays to mess around with

Ah, sorry, I had to read the sentence one more time to get it, English is not my mothers tongue so I missed it first time.

I'm restoring a similar Venner counter like the one in the link as well as an Advance Instruments TC1 counter which both need new digit plastic sheets.

All good. Pretty sure you'll need to design your own films. Should be a lot easier than what I had to do though, as you have a base to go off of /something that just needs to be reproduced

What's the model number of your displays?

I built a clock out of these:

I had quality-control problems with the displays.  They use two LEDs per digit, and on some displays only one would work.  I had to disassemble the displays and touch up solder joints.

The lixies are really cool. Good price too considering price for individual components and time to build yourself (qc issues aside).

Started today, and got this far on building a case for my clock.
