Was going through my ‘treasures’...:-) Found this, an original Jeff Thomas Commemorative Nixie Clock from 2000. Still works! Uses NL840 tubes....this was the first clock I ever made and it’s been seriously downhill ever since...

Doh! You're supposed to use the upside-down "bat nixies" for that clock.....

I have the predecessor to that one. The very first one Jeff made. I treasure it. Do you have a manual or BOM for it you could share?

It’s funny...after a while in operation the tubes illuminate properly. I’ve noted that quite a few of the NL8xx family can show some partial illumination after prolonged storage but within a couple of hours use come back to life correctly.....
