Hello guys,

I finally managed to get a DVD full of videos from Tesla factory. The
video was made for local museum exhibition about Tesla and I thought
it would be a pitty if such a great stuff is covered by dust in
archive again. So I asked director of the museum for it and he allowed
me to publish it!

The pictures are very nice and show rare moments from manufacture of
nixie tubes, other vacuum tubes, CRT, transistors and so.. I cut out
the section related to nixie tubes, You will find it here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ukgsPVB8NI

I will prepare other videos (CRT, transistors..) soon,

cheers!

Wow! That is superb. I assume such footage of actual factory production is very, very rare. Looking forward to the videos showing CRT manufacture, when you get time!

Really cool video !
By the way I wonder how many tubes are remaining in the stocks of the main productive countries.

That was very cool, especially the space age music/sounds effects near the end.

Hi,

another piece about vacuum tubes in general and some CRT shots here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRpC8b2FFt0

I especially love the CRT sealing burners ;-)

As for the stocks of tubes in Tesla, as far as I know, Tesla was split to individual factories and sold to private owners after 1989 when socialistic government fell.. Not much of the manufacturing equipment was saved, the same with tubes, I think they trashed all to get space for new production. This especially applies for nixie tubes - they were produced in small factory in town Vrchlabi, separately from huge tube manufacture in Roznov. I think nothing was saved and there are no stocks of nixie tubes anymore.

Cheers!

That's really great stuff Dalibor, thanks for persuading the museum to let it out!

Cheers,
