Looking to build a 2 or 4 digit numitron or nixie clock into a standard 2" marine gauge housing, for my boat.

Anyone done this? I don't want to re-invent the wheel.

I have seen a Nixie speedometer in a rat rod, but they did not survive very long as I recall.  There are a couple of videos over on YouTube, but I don't think they go into what was needed to build one.  I would be interested to see how you put yours together.

That's why I was leaning towards numitrons. Pretty robust. It's a pontoon so I'm really not too worried about mechanical shock. However I also have some small HP LED displays that would look great.

I've identified a couple of gauge housings, but I'm having trouble finding the drawings/dimensions for them. I've picked ones that match the existing gauges in my boat.

Once I have one in hand, I'll take the next steps towards the actual clock design. Considering a GPS disciplined design.
