Not exactly neon but I scored a classic old OC White Big Eye with the optional 5 diopter 7.5 inch optical glass in it... it looks like it's coming with the table mount so I ordered an edge clamp to hold it to the side of my desk I work at.
There's something really neat about these original old designs I think.  They usually come with 3 diopter (1. 75x) lense but can be oredered with 4 (2x) or 5 (which mine has and is 2.5x magnification... the largest)

Looks like it's got that good balanced old school reach too!

You can still buy the tubes from them and they're essentially ESD safe as they're made from real metal!

I had one of these on a steel base that I left on the kitchen floor next to a window with venetian blinds. It was a sunny day and the lens focused the sunlight on the floor and I got a venetian blind pattern burned into the vinyl flooring.  My wife was very unhappy !

Some modern types have a lid that you can close when not using the looking glass, you just have to remember to close it though.

I have one of those, but my main bench magnifier is a relatively new LED-lit model from Jameco.  Although it's slightly smaller, in general I like it considerably better than the old war horse, because it's brighter, cooler, and being lighter is much easier to position.

However, it has a significant (one might even say "glaring" :-{  ) issue in the huge amount of RFI it emits.  I also do a lot of work with low-level audio and instrumentation electronics, and I have to turn it off when I'm tracking down noise or doing low level measurements.  The fluorescent model is considerably better in that regard, both because of the lower emissions in the first place, and also probably because of the metal shielding.  For real quiet, though, I use just my bench lighting (which is strips of 12-volt LEDs driven by a linear power supply), and a small cheap magnifier with a regular incandescent bulb.
