Hey Pete, I've built one of your earlier FLW clocks -- non GPS version -- and at one point I know I had the manual/instructions for it. I can no longer locate them.

Would you be so kind as to re-send the documentation?

Much appreciated.

Terry,

I knew I had it.  I sent it to you:  Sent: Thursday, June 9, 2011 5:34 PM   😉   I didn’t even realize I had email that far back.

I’ll send it to you now.

Heh, sounds like something that would happen to me. Good thing you aren't shipping from Ukraine right now.

I have email going back to 1997. o_O

Can you send me the manual too Michail... you've got my email.  I have one of Pete Hand's FLW clocks as well.  I'm sure glad I snagged it when I did with these recent B7971 prices o.O!  I got 4 tubes and the clock for $600.  It was actually one of his clocks and his family had a friend selling off all his clocks and stuff.  At least that's what they told me.  If i remember correctly they were in Scandinavia somewhere the seller was.  He may be a member here for all I know.  I think he is actually.

Michail, the files you sent me were not for the FLW clock. They were for another VFD clock.

I'm hoping Pete will still send the correct files.

I found my original ones after looking a little while.  Attached is I think that you're looking for Terry.

Also I think I mixed up Pete (sorry) with Jeff Thomas.  It was Jeff's family member I got the clock from in Europe.  R.I.P. Jeff my bad.

I have one of these Pete Hand/Jeff Thomas clocks as well.  Does anyone know if there is a firmware update?  Wondering if there's an updated revision out there?

Jeff didn't really do firmware - his clocks generally used firmware written by another person. Updates for Jeff's firmware should be available from Michael Barile on a MCU exchange basis.

Pete's GPSFLW uses Pete's firmware, I believe. So if he is still updating it you should be able to get the clock updated (but possibly by return exchange). I believe the CPU is soldered in (unlike the socketed CPUs on Jeff's clocks) and the CPU runs the HV power supply under software control. That means that if you use an in-circuit programmer (USBASP or similar) and hold the CPU in a halted state while flashing it, parts of the HV supply can overheat and burn up.
