Hi!
I won some of his auctions (but not that one), now I'm waiting for a partial refundation. Nixies were supposed to be "like new" and some of them were, but others were heavily used (even those in boxes), some other were compleatly dead.
So knowing it's final price, I'm more curious of it's condition.

That's unfortunate. I hope it functions, from the pics it may have some odd symbols.

It might display some kanji characters, but it’s hard to tell from the photos

I won the tube. Unfortunately the base is cracked and it is completely dead. I am having some trouble identifying the symbols...

Wow jens that is so sad. Maybe you could try some pics with a razor thin focal plane head-on with the tube and focus on each cathode?

I used a fast lens with the lights off, a flashlight, and some macro filters on my lens to focus on the secondary anode mesh in this B5750s

that is one sad news  .. I really wanted that tube hoping that might be something similar to

but never crossed my mind that could be broken.

Does the tube seems to be broken during transportation ?  or it has signs that the tube is in that state for very long ?

your feedback regarding the broken tubes is also good .. I added the seller to favorites but I think he  should be avoided  .

BTW , do you know any available nixie tube that could show the week days ?  I really want one
Does any one of you asked Dalibor about creating something similar ?

I don't judge that seller. He might just not know what he had, tubes could also be stored improperly, without any protection - that's an often problem. To bad, he didn't describe them as "untested". Why the description was "like new"?
The positive thing in my story is, that he didn't make any problems with my claim - refundation is accepted, I'm just waiting for the money to physically show up on my account.

BTW I like buying untested nixies. I bought many Z566M, Z573M, LC513 and similar for pennies. ;)

The damage to the tube did not happen during shipment. But it is easy to miss if you are not familiar with Nixie tubes. If I had seen this clearly on the photos I would not have placed such a high bid. I certainly don't blame the seller for not spotting this.

Sad to hear it is damaged  :(

For identifying the symbols, maybe a laser pointer can help, i tried this once with a tube, by moving the laser pointer on the axis of the symbol. A green one did a very good job to identify symbols!

Also i bought from this seller a few times, it seems that he's some kind of reseller/seller of bulk tube assortments, maybe from house clearances or flea markets. Possibly not knowing that much about tubes, judging by the replies to messages.
