I picked this up at one of my clients.  They were going to toss it.  Planned on making a lamp, but gave up

I just saw one on the Bay for $645 - but it's new.
This one has a date code of 2012
Here's the dimensions:

I expect $10-18 to ship? 25 oz plus a bit of packing I suppose...

Sorry guys- it's shipping to the southern end of CA.

Don't fret though-  I'll get more.  It came from a Varian machine - oncology clinic

I have one that's very similar but no idea where it is so I can't make a comparison. Nevertheless, if you have more I'm interested.

I'll take that as a complement (if it was referring to me). All of it has been stored in a smoke free, climate controlled environment. An environment that's crammed full. The heart of my Nixie collection is test gear that a friend (who's even more of a hoarder and has better stuff) reluctantly gave to me before he had to pack up and move to a smaller house.

Q: Should car stereo speakers be pointed to the rear for more thrust or up for more traction?

A. On long trips, the 20- to 30% improvement in gas mileage you might get with speakers pointing to the rear is certainly worthwhile. On the other hand, if you drive on snow or ice, the extra traction of speakers pointing upward gives you added control.

It is a compliment... plus a dash of pure envy :D
I also have my "office/workshop" crammed full of books, test gear, computers, 3D Printer plus the odd bit of wood. So... hoarder!!! :D

You should have seen my buddy's basement before he moved. He had a really nice "rec' room" with a pool table, arcade games (Haunted House with a broken vortex in the backglass because the motors they used all went bad), fancy audio system including a pair of electrostatic speakers he bought at a yard sale, a bar...

And all of it was buried. Stuff piled all over the billiard table, a dozen 17" CRT monitors underneath it and so on. A side room with piles of Tek scopes and computer parts up to the ceiling. Then his "shop" with at least a dozen caddies full of actually desirable tubes, filing cabinets full of schematics and service manuals, and a 7' rack cabinet completely filled with gear. That's where the Nixie stuff came from.

His real shop was his garage. More arcade games in various states of repair and anything else that was too big to put anywhere else.

You should see the shop I'm going to have when I win the lottery. Detached from the house in case of a fire. Necessary because of the neon department..
