DGM01 Flat-top Tube

I just received my DGM01 kit by iNixie in the mail and they told me by email beforehand that they'd give me an extra tube out of courtesy because of shipping difficulties. To my surprise, turns out the extra tube they gave me is a flat-top tube with weird purple pins inside the glass.

I don't think it's a prototype because the SN number on the back is very high (or maybe it is, I don't know). I think it's either an unfinished tube that wasn't rounded (which is cool with me, I think it looks good) or maybe one made from the end of the pyrex glass tubes they use? Anyway I think it looks great.

I got my package yesterday as well and yes there was a xtra bulb...I think it was one off there prototypes,the flat top...The other Bulb had a bit off -burn already on the number 8....hmmmm..and thats there good tube..But it was only $169australian+free shipping for 1bulb and development kit+..Which is premade,ready too go....

I must've missed this auction.  Is that $99 for just one tube or is that with the dev board shown in the unboxing video?  Tubes look really nice.

Hello Peter, we have received feedback from our customers that the tubes produced in the first week of November may have some faults. The tubes you received may have been produced in this week, and we found that the potentiometer of the constant current circuit of the aging equipment had loosened, which led to the uneven aging of some tubes and thus some problems. We are sorry that you have received unqualified tubes due to our mistake, we will send you new tubes as a replacement within the next week.

Well, my order was shipped Dec 28 but no sign of it yet.  It was still in China somewhere so I emailed them and got a very quick response that there is a shipping issue and they would take care of it.  So, keeping my fingers crossed!
