Hi,
Strange little Panaplex (I think) displays Presumably from military equipment, each display is mounted on a small PCB with what looks like a Nato number.
Each segment is made up of two parts. with a decimal point on the right. The housing is only 2.5mm thick (excluding gold pins) , and is a 14 pin DIL package.
Hand written on the rear in white ink is "PRP OPTO 670 , 00 49 D.
Any info on these would be welcome, thanks. David

Hello.
According to prpopto.com they were founded in 1989 and produce led displays. Their website search for 640 returns a spare for military applications, seven segment green (led).

Easy to find out with a multimeter and will not be damaged in case it is a true panaplex. Have you already tried?

Hello Paolo,
Thanks for that! Yes it is a red LED display - GPD 670. A quick prod with a couple of volts lights up the decimal point. Won't be hard to work out the other connections. Thanks again, David

I agree that thing is most certainly a LED display. Too thin to be a panaplex, Try to connect 5V in series with f.ex. 1k8 to various pins and look for any light. Those old LED's are very sensitive. Too high current and they are instantly gone.

The number 670 may refere to an old red display on prpopto's site. Have You any idea of how old Your display might be or where it comes from? It looks like a prototype part not in production.
