Two more books scanned by Martin Forsberg.

Ok, you say, what's a Trochotron? Read and find out... I ask you to
download and keep these books in your ebook collection as the wider
these scans get spread, the greater is the chance of their survival...

Why not upload them to https://archive.org/index.php ?

I can do, in practice I know little about online archives. So I'll look
at this. But I still like the idea of people having their own copies.

"If you would like to add a book to the library, we encourage you to scan and upload it if you believe you have the appropriate rights to do so." - The rights part is the hard thing to crack, I've talked to several rights owners but most have denied the right to upload scanned books to Archive.org.

Now, these two on Trochotrons I've actually been granted the rights to distribute as KTH, The Royal Institute of Technology, gave me explicit rights to do so.

In some cases I thought there were no rights holders left but it often turns out that rights have either been sold to another company now holding the rights, or just transferred without any payment to someone else. I got a lot of help from some librarians all over the world to track down rights on some old books and unfortunately most of them still have copyrights owned by someone (some copyright owners got really nasty when I asked for the right to upload their old books).

Hi

When you click on the link it will open the file and download page at a time without saving it locally. Likely to be a slow process. You should get a pulldown or button to "download" the file and then windows should offer to save the file as a PDF. I am using windows 10 and have the dropbox application so I may be seeing things different to you. If others could chime in with their success or failure than I can look again at how to offer these PDF files.

It works for me on Windows 7, just press the "Download" button in the upper right corner and then select "Direct download" to save the file like in the picture below - depending on how, and which, webbrowser you have you should get a save dialog box or it is downloaded to your "Downloaded files" folder.

Thanks for your help.  Was way trickier than that.  I had to clock on download button with mouse and at an instant later hit enter to get to the download as a pdf option but I managed to catch it.

Thanks for your help, I don't use dropbox much

Perhaps we could just have a PDF files on neonixie if possible.
