I had a couple of broken E1T's in the stash and the glass bulb was separated on one of them, so curiosity got the better of me...

If you cut off a few of the pins (in some cases you need to cut off all) on the top you can remove the top mica sheet and look down into the tube. Sometimes they flattened the pins or welded small pieces of flat wire to them on the top so then you’ll have to cut off all to be able to lift the mica sheet.
