 This years incarnation was still nice but was somewhat smaller than past years. Among the missing was the fire breathing dragon, full scale Mouse Trap game and, sadly, the hit and miss engine displays...

Next to the dekatron spinners, is a box with a hole in it that says "Look" ... I don't think so

That is the display of a friend of mine.
He's on the list, so I imagine he will comment if he catches this posting.

The spinners and the clock with spinner are threeneurons kits.

He had about a dozen different nixie and VFD displays to show off.

Howdy!  That was me! Thanks for the pics.  Check out the wonderful magic eye color organ. That was sweeeet. 

Yes, Michael, those are mostly your kits.  It was very safe to look inside the box. It was an electronic jar of firefly LEDs. 

I took lots of my toys there.  

It was oodles of fun.

For me, this event was much better than in prior years. They moved things around a bit. It was nice to see things other than just drones and 3D printers everywhere.

As a kid we did a lot of homemade fireworks. Most of time the went boom, if  I wanted them to, or not.  We put on a fireworks show, for the neighborhood, on the 4th of July. Some time in the middle of the show, we'd tell the crowd to look at this next "special" one. It was a charge of flash powder, and everyone was blinded for a minute or two. So, if it was my table, and I had a box with a hole in it, you'd be in for  surprise :)
