Very unusual to see these on the Bay.....shame they're in such bad shape, any bets on what they'll sell for?

No, it's not my auction and I'm not affiliated with the seller.....blah blah blah...

Maybe Dalibor could replace the envelopes on these tubes? I'd really like to see him try (and succeed). I have a batch of the same type, with the same problem.

This is really a nice find... I got my B-7032 new in box, but I recall seeing some severly darkened ones before as well. Do you guys know when they were primarily in use? It seems they were replaced by the B-7037 and B-7038, respectively (or their NL counterparts). Jens

It's a nice touch that the seller has checked the filaments and guarantees them to work (!)

Gosh,  I wonder about the ratings on nixie filaments...   :)

Its the same like the sentencens "tested on calibrated T/V-7U army tube testers". I wonder how you can test nixies there...

Hi,
No wonder I haven't seen this one yet! There's something strange about this auction (or maybe it's me...) :
I can search on eBay.com for any or all words in the title without finding anything! Why is that?

Yeah, same here, it is US only. Won't even ship to Canada, and I cannot
contact the seller because I have a German ebay account... Cheers Jens

Not to ship outside the US is understandable, but eBay hiding auctions from me?

You need to search the world rather than your local eBay. It came up in my searches....

Yikes - they're badly silvered.  I guess they're not mercury doped and Standard Life.  7037's are Extended Life tubes and much better.

I wonder what they were used in...

Hi Nick,
I need your help :
I'm looking for a setting to search the whole (eBay) world, but I can't seem to find it.
Or do you mean through Google?

Finding this setting would be very helpful. This way I d'on't have to search through all the stores separately anymore.

Thanks

Once you do a search for an item, and the results are displayed, then on
the left side of the screen under "ITEM LOCATION" select "worldwide". Ira.

Thanks a lot Ira!

That does help a lot indeed, but after some testing I found that there still is another limitation : the "shipping to" setting.
And for this setting there is no worldwide option.
This means that I can't see an article that only ships to USA and another which only ships to Germany or France at the same time!
I have to change the "shipping to" setting, which, as far as I know, is only visible when you sort by distance.
The setting remains active afterwards, even when you change de sorting criteria...

Wish that I knew how to help more at this point, but I can't. Good luck,
Ira.

Ouch! That auction ended at $373 (US). I think the consensus in this group is that the tubes were near the end of their useful life. However, if anyone here did end up buying them, please let us know their condition once you get a chance to test them.

BTW, according to Ebay, Dalibor has sold 16 of his tubes this month; two of the lots were for 6 tubes, so there are some clockmakers at-work out there. Truly a remarkable accomplishment.

If the person who bought them is on this list, I would be happy to buy one of them. Broken or not, they are still historic pieces. Please drop me an email, thanks! Jens

There are tricks I've discovered that allow one to see items that don't ship to their country in ebay searches. One parameter that ebay fortunately currently does NOT check with respect to location restrictions, is your IP address. So, besides setting the "worldwide" radio button, other ways ebay knows where you are include your account settings, and the exact ebay site you're using. The ways around those are: 1) sign out! and 2) use the TLD of the location you want to check, if known. For example, ebay.de (Germany) or ebay.co.uk (United Kingdom). Beware that in some countries the category tree will be radically different from what you're familiar with. For example, the structure of some of the technical categories at ebay.nl (Netherlands/Holland) is greatly simplified compared to those on ebay.com (U.S.A.) -- in my experience, not a good thing.

Once you've found an item using these methods, it's usually still possible to contact the seller to find out if he'll make an exception for you. In case of an absolute "must have" item and an unwavering seller, there are also services available by which you can pay a small fee to have an item delivered to an "acceptable" address for the seller, then re-shipped to you anywhere in the world.

There's also a field for your postcode/ZIP code when you sort by price+shipping. If you use the tricks I mentioned, be sure to set the post code to something valid for the country whose site you're using. I usually pick one from the capital city; the same as the head of state's official residence if I can find it ;) .

I won the auction with the B-7032.
As a new collector I could not let them go.
Since I live in Europe, I won't receive the nixies right away.
I will post here once I have seen and tested them.

Congratulations are in-order on your winning bid; I'm glad to see that someone in this forum acquired these tubes. Please be sure to let us know how they work out. I hope that you get at least 6 tubes in good-enough condition to make a clock.

I didn't bid on the 7032's because the six 7971's I recently bought depleted my nixie fund, not to mention my project queue is getting too long.

I also hope to end up with enough good tubes to make a clock. I'll let you know.
Did you buy your 7971s from Pete? I just saw that he's selling quite a few!

As promised some time ago, I made some pictures, but only of the nixie with the least deposit on the glass :

Not my auction, but there are ten NL7037 tubes available individually, at 300 USD each. Personally I'll stick with the IN-18, as it's fairly close in size, or a set of RZ568's with a 10-year warranty.

Thanks for the info. If I did not have some of these already, I would fall back in my nixie-buy-addiction right-away. :-)

It’s like waiting for a bus. You wait for ever for one to come along, then a whole bunch come along at once. This is the third listing for NL7037 in the last few months.

Greg, these are much bigger than IN-18 tubes. My favorite large Nixie.

Dalibor's nixies are nearly the same size (50mm symbol height vs NL7037 51mm) and 1/2 the price...
