Anyone here able to buy something from Farnell in UK and ship to me?

They don’t ship to the United States and Newark says 8/26/2019 .

I want to buy 40 of these….

Have you looked here?

I've bought trafo's from them and they're very good and well priced.

Wouldn't they have to pay a significant VAT on the purchase before sending it to you?

I'd have thought the biggest hit would be shipping, they look heavy

if shipping outside the EU, the rules in most countries rebate the VAT.
BUT the distributor is question is part of a wider international chain
and so they are probably only set up to ship from the UK to the UK.

the delay quoted may well come from an estimate of teh time to ship from
the UK to their HQ, and reship to the customer.

Terry -   Yes, VAT would have to be paid, and I am/was willing.

Even with VAT, it was well cheaper than the Newark.com pricing.

The issue is that I can’t get it from Newark until maybe August.  I bought out the 10 they have and requested 40 more.  Even if paying up front, they can’t promise they would be even available in August.  Strange since both Newark and farnell ‘claim’ to be sister sites.  Farnell has 200+ in stock.   I find it strange if I prepay for 40 ($800 + shipping), that they still can’t get them un Aug 26th at the earliest.

Grahame – Thanks.  I am checking a couple of options before I ask for your help.  Obviously I would pay you up front and some extra if/when it comes to that.

David – Yup, kind of heavy, but even with that, it would still be cheaper than the USA (if I could even get them).

Nicholas – Thanks, I am looking into those now.

PS.  The project is Pinball score reel clock.  I don’t know why, but I am trying to build 50 of them and/or at least come up with kits.  They seemed to have had group buys for kits that sell out, so I figured I would do the same.  Everything is on it’s way to me now, except only enough power supplies for 10.
