hi there. I recently acquired a Karlsson KA2000 nixies clock, but it didn't come with a power plug/supply. the clock label states 9VAC 300mA 50/60Hz, which tells me I can just get any power plug of 9V and min 300mA (correct me if I'm wrong), but the question is the polarity of the plug.

hence, does anyone know if the correct polarity of  the plug? usually it seems that center would be the "+", but I dont want to try and find out...

thank you for your help.. cheers, m

If it's ac it doesn't have a polarity per se.....

AC = alternating current. No polarity. The power supply is probably a transformer-based power supply without a Gretzsch bridge.

thank you for that! I'm rather clueless when it comes to these things, but this would seem that this not the "usual" AC/DC plug and some type of AC/AC converter? I'm  glad I asked as I was tempted to plug in a 9V 300mA AC/DC plug into it...

thank you again!

pardon my ignorance here, but would it be ok to plug this into a AC to AC adapter 9VAC output but with 1000mA ? meaning does the 300mA output matters or can I got higher? thank you!

That's fine.   Having an adaptor that can supply more current is no problem.

thank you much! I found a 9VAC 500mA rated plug/transformer and now confident it should work... cheers!
