Hi Group,

Looking for information regarding kitchen scales with nixie displays.

Makes, models and pictures please if you know of any..

I'm pretty sure Avery offered nixie kitchen scales in the mid 70s, but there is no readily available information about them.

kind regards,

Never seen one.
However I have seen Hobart store/deli scales with VFD tubes. I still have some Hobart branded tubes.

Avery 1780 appears to be Panaplex display, and Avery claims it was their first digital scale, in 1971.

I would expect the cost of driving Nixies to be prohibitive for  household kitchen scales in the 1960s.  Good luck in your search, hopefully something turns up.

In the distant past I have aquired boards of 'BAT' tubes (mostly Mullard) which came from Avery Scales which had a readout 'both sides' - one for the customer and one for the counter staff - I have no idea of date though.
That being said, i can find no evidence whatsoever that Avery ever made such a thing :-(

Terry,
this is not Nixie and not a kitchen scale, but a store-one. Produced sometime in the 70s by Croatian electronic factory Digitron in Buje, apparently using Panaplex displays. I remember seeing them in stores as a kid.
Top line in ad boosts "Weighs, calculates and prints". Coming before barcode scanners were available, clerks would have to punch the price for the item and scale would calculate and print the price.

Terry,
not kitchen scale but with thirty Nixies. See this post of mine https://groups.google.com/g/neonixie-l/c/q0yIttif6_4/m/_RMzgWQrAQAJ?utm_medium=email&utm_source=footer&pli=1 . I do have better pictures if anyone is interested.
