Did anyone notice that eBay has switched from photos that are j-pegs to images as HTML documents.   You can no longer copy the images for your own files.

You could use a screenshot tool, MacOS has a nice one built in as does Windows 10 I believe. I wonder why they changed format?

Server space maybe and bandwidth?  I'm betting on stupidity though, as most of ebay's changes have been...

I can still copy them.

You have to wait until eBay has loaded all photos so that the splash screen "Mouse over to zoom - Click to enlarge" shows, then when you move the mouse onto the picture and click to enlarge you can save them by right clicking and selecting "Save picture as". You can't save them from the main auction page though, there it shows as HTML.

I think that was a while back.

Note:   You can use SNIP

In the search bar on the bottom left (assuming you’re using windows), just type in SNIP and enter.

When you click new, your screen is frozen and you’re able to select the area you want.  Then easily save the picture and/or get a new image, etc.

None of these bargraph audio level meters (they're all over eBay) are true "VU" meters as such but this one does seem to be using some sort of log converter chip (I can't make out the numbers in the pictures) which would make it more useful for the purpose. I'm also seeing more meters that use IN-9s.

My beloved JVC cassette deck has a spectrum analyzer in addition to the level meters. The only snag is that it uses slow LCDs. The previous model used a two or three color VFD and boy was it fast!
