Nice device, and it uses a 2N3055 transistor!!! I built an amplifier with these transistors 45 years ago, probably the last time I have seen one of them. I remember that they were very popular in Spain in the 1970s.

You can still get them in Silicon Valley.  See page 16:  https://anchor-electronics.com/price-list.pdf , and don't forget the plastic equivalents (MJE3055, TIP3055, etc.).

Almost every transistor manufacturer sold them.  I remember reading that the 2N3055 spec was so loose that they could re-mark their rejects for other part numbers.  Conversely, in most of my non-demanding applications (audio amplifiers, power supply pass transistors, etc.), most of the power npn transistors (e..g., TIP35)  were interchangeable as long as I did not exceed the actual BVceo.

a few numbers were registers with "loose" specs.

see attch (RCA 2n3055 is the right hand column).

Got some 2N3055 transistors... time to make a "High Power" nixie clock with a big heatsink :-)

I’ve got these ones (ST, with the marking on the top) from Reichelt Germany for $0.9 each, probably the last ones, because now they are no longer listed.
