Probably chinese bargraph vfd tubes, they seem to be very rare. I've attached some pictures of similar tubes.

Ok ok...
It doesn't seems to be a regular item...

It must surely be Chinese, the lack of clues and evidence brings us there with force.
Whatever the top of the tubes made me look towards Nec.

Wait & See...

6E2 'magic eye' tubes driven to produce a colon?. Very neat but power hungry and short lived I'd expect.

I dont think it's a 6E2... the tubes in the photo have distinct bargraph segments, I'm pretty sure it's a VFD.

It would be interesting to see a 6E2/EM84 "opening and closing" once per second. If you're curious as to what this would look like try one of these (only $20):

Stereo version:

How about a Magic Eye clock? I'd be very interested in that. Who wants to go first, gang? Think of it as a new challenge, uncharted territory.

I have eight EM800s.  8D

Magic eyes just don't last long enough to be useful in a clock....kind of like IN-2's.... lol!!

I wouldn't leave it turned on for very long. 8D

They are NO magic eyes, but VFD display’s like every other VFD 7-segment display the indication is by steps every dot (or triangle) is on or off

The Russians also had things like this, but with round dots and about the length of a IN9.

Remarkable is the  “zero” level display with up-down indication. I only saw such with LED’s. Red triangles and a green line in the middle to tell level zero just for FM discriminator tuning ‘zero level’.

In flat VFD environment, there is the  ИЛТ1-5Л / ILT1-5L (5-Dot Vacuum Fluorescent Indicator )

but nothing on VFD "Tube" environment.
nothing yet, I'm still searching.
