I have contributed substantial parts of this article over many years, but now its so hacked about that it has lost its structure and the use of English, in part, is not good. Actually, I'll go further - it's poor, contains errors and lacks cohesion.

Over the next few weeks I'll seek to completely rewrite this article with a better structure, improved use of English, no duplication, expanded references etc. If others feel that this is not appropriate, please contribute below; if you feel something is missing and needs to be added, please say so. Let me know your thoughts.

Make  a back-up of your writing. That saves a lot of trouble, next time...

Thanks Miss. Can I see you after class?

Anyway, I just get angry with people hacking around in Wiki articles - anyone want to contribute, let me know please.

More power to you. The suggestion to keep your own copy of what you
write is a good one, as similar efforts I have tried in the past have
resulted in edit wars and running up against the wikipedia rules which
sometimes seem to be designed to lower the overall quality of the
articles - specificaly No original research, and citation rules taht
tend to favor random web sites over scholarly articles that are not
available online.

I recall trying to improve the article on the "Pentagrid Converter" and
facing someone who insisted that it was a terrible idea that never
caught on because it was just a ruse to get around British tax laws and
did not work well anyway.

(The Basic home radio in north America almost universaly used a
pentagrid converter from about 1932 till the end of tubes.)

After I gave up the current article is a hopeless bodge talking about
heptodes and octodes and everything else under the sun. ABout the Only
part I did is still there is a close up photo of a 12SA7GT which I took
in desperation because someone kept editing the article to say that a
pentagrid converter seldom actually had 5 grids.

you will note it is the second picture in the article
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagrid_converter
While the first picture is totally off topic.
