Recently, Marcin Saj at nixietester.com had a successful Kickstarter for his ONE Nixie Clock and a friend of mine snagged one. He's not a Nixie et al fanatic like us but more interested in its Internet Of Things features. He's considering purchasing one or both of the Millclock tubes. The question is which base should he get? He's not going to be using his tubes with some other gadget that requires the classic pin-out. Is there an advantage to the standard Millclock arrangement? I scoured the web site but couldn't find any technical details.
Also, are the Millclock tubes the best choice for in the price range? NOS IN-18s seem to be going for the same price as a ZIN-18 now, not the $50 I paid three or four years ago.
I've already asked Marcin about this but haven't heard back yet. This is not criticism; I find myself running behind all the time.
