Since there's a new Nixie watch player, I thought I'd give a brief
pictorial history of how many times I had to redesign my Nixie watch
before I was happy with it.

I also have a pile of non-working watch modules that's bigger than the
total production of every other Nixie watch maker on the planet. Which
is a few dozen watches. (I've made about 1500 watches by now.)

Actually David, there is a whole slew of rather clunky nixie watches showing up on ebay right now.
Yours continues to be the nicest IMHO.

I would like to say thanks to you David for your help when I was designing my Nixie watch.

So far it has lasted a week on my arm without any problem. I am an electrical engineer and the watch is worn throughout the day as a normal watch. I guess the tubes will be the thing that will fail first due to vibrations.

Terry,

Thanks. This is why I have a dozen versions - I keep at it until it's good
enough for me. Most people stop at the first version that works.

I must say that thr circuit and the software part for me is very easy, but I have checked your newest design picture, seems the SMD socket which you use for installing the NIXIE tube is the 2.0mm female socket,I bought a lot of different brand socket, from 2.0mm to 1.5mm gaps, seems this kind of socket is designed for hold the squire shape pins, not good for the small round NIXIE tube pins.
Currentlly I have tried to customize the round female pins from the factory,if works fine,I will strart to do the rest jobs, hope I can post my design of NIXIE watch in the future.

Best reagrds.

Yes, you have found a problem that I also encountered. I managed to
solve it. The solution is not published. :)
