Going through my Nixie stash of junk I have collected over the years and re-found this old board with 3 ZM1000 tubes and a large NE2 type bulb used for a '1' digit.  I think it's some kind of counter - it has 7490 decade counters feeding 7441 driver chips.  There are also 3 NE2 bulbs, I assume for +/- etc.   I haven't traced the board out, but it looks pretty straightforward.  Chips are dated 1972.

Does anyone know what the 'big NE2' bulb is?   Photos attached.

Thanks!

Just curious if anyone knows what that "1" tube is...  Might prove handy for a 12 hour clock when I have 3 tubes left...

Thanks!

It's an extra long NE2 by the looks of it..... they come in a host of different lengths, I think that one may be an A1A or similar... see the attached...

Tayda Electronics has a small variety of NE2 style neon lamps.   They have some nice long ones.       -Chuck
