Around 2005 I built a couple of Nixie clocks from kits purchased at nixieclocks.de ... one for me, and one for a friend. Recently, my friend moved to the UK taking his clock with him, and unfortunately plugged it into the 240V mains there, so frying the primaries of the mains transformer (it was wired for 115V).

He's sent the power supply back to me in the hope I can repair it. The primaries are open circuit, but everything else looks good.

I'm having a hard time sourcing the transformer, which is a rather unusual configuration: it has 115Vx2 primary windings and a 160V and a 10V secondary winding. I'm attaching a photo of it.

Does anyone here know where I might obtain one?

Many thanks!

That's from Dieter - almost certainly a "special" - I'd email him and ask if he has any spares.

Thanks, Nick. I've emailed the support address at nixieclocks.de asking about that. Is Dieter active on this list?

Doesn't Dieter run Nocrotec instead?
Anyway, it's a special but I don't think it can't be replaced with two "non-special" transformers. Of course it will depend on the enclosure.
Another alternative is to send it to a motor rewinder...

Also check the electrolytic caps as well, in case they were exposed to voltage above their rating.

I've been in touch with Claus-Dieter, and he has sorted me out with a contact for another PSU.

Thanks for the help here :-)
